Gain True Health: Cut Your Sugar
Do you crave it? How often are you eating sugary foods? The problem is, even if you THINK you’re not eating a lot of it, YOU ARE! It’s literally everywhere and in everything…Out of all the drugs today, SUGAR is being abused more than any of them. our world has a very large “Sugar Abuse” issue that need to be addressed. to be honest, sugar addiction is just as bad as having a severe drug addiction: it’s a hard habit to break and is killing A LOT of people.
If you fall into the “Sugar Addict” category there are a few tips we recommend trying if you really want to “Kick the Habit.” Check it out…
First off, try and limit how much “Fake Food” you’re eating. As we all know, processed foods and/or junk food can really be bad for our bodies. this means NO packaged foods, NO sugary snacks and NO crappy TV dinners. if you avoid these types of products and stick to REAL foods in their natural form, you can most definitely see a decrease in your sugar cravings. The thing to realize is that fake foods and refined carbohydrates (bread, rice, pasta) can actually increase a person’s sugar cravings; therefore, avoid them as much as you can.
If you’re cutting down your refined carbs (as you should be), you’re going to have to increase your veggie intake. People get A LOT of their energy/calories from refined carbs and sugar these days; if they’re cut out, vegetables should replace them. to be honest, it’s really hard to eat TOO many vegetables…so go crazy! Eat em up! There are so many vegetable recipes to check out also, so it’s time to step your game up! Also, it is very important to realize just HOW many calories people are getting from sugar today…the more sugary calories you start cutting out, the better off you will be.
Our second tip is to drink A LOT of water, something Versatile Health is BIG on…this will help keep you hydrated. for those who don’t know, dehydration and hunger can feel the same at certain times. Often, when a person is very dehydrated, they may think they’re hungry…so they eat. if you’re eating when your actually thirsty, you can definitely experience some negative health issues: weight gain, digestive issues, body aches/pains, etc…
Our last tip is to eat fruit when you feel a sugar craving coming on. obviously, a piece of fruit is better to eat than scarfing down a whole box of donuts. Fruit can have A LOT of sugar though, so be careful of how much you’re eating. those who eat a lot of fruit can definitely gain unwanted weight if they’re not monitoring how much they’re eating.
These quick 3 tips are areas of health and wellness that we HAD to share…just cause we love you all. try it out, and let us know how you felt when you were “Kickin the Habit.” Hit us up at versatilehealth.com with your sugar addiction story and let us know how you cut back. much love…Peace.
